Leeds United next manager odds as Andoni Iraola replaces Arne Slot as favourite

Rayo Vallecano manager Andoni Iraola has leapfrogged Arne Slot as the bookies' favourite for the Leeds United job, after Slot confirmed his decision to stay at Feyenoord yesterday.

Iraola was an early frontrunner for the job along with ex-Leeds assistant and under-23 head coach Carlos Corberan. However, Corberan penned a new long-term deal at West Brom, while Vallecano blocked Leeds' approach for Iraola.

According to Spanish publication Marca, Iraola was attracted to the project and the idea of coaching in the Premier League, but did not want to give the impression that he was leaving a club which he has managed to establish himself as a coach.

Nevertheless, the former Spanish international, who has propelled Vallecano from the second-tier to top four hopefuls in La Liga, is the bookmakers' favourite at 6/4.

Elsewhere, Celtic's Ange Postecoglou remains in the running at 9/1, just ahead of the legendary former River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo, who is 10/1.
