Danny Murphy says Leeds United's lack of desire when defending set pieces contributed to their collapse against Crystal Palace.

Leeds dominated large periods of the first half but allowed Palace back into the game when Marc Guehi seized on a free-kick delivery to equalise before half-time.

The Eagles scored four times after the break with a brace from Jordan Ayew, and goals from Eze and Odsonne Eduoard.

“Leeds are at the end of their own struggles, at set plays. This is a header Schlupp that is [when his header hit the post], I don’t know how he has missed it," Murphy told Premier League Productions.

"It’s probably easier to score. The keeper should be coming up and doing better, as far as I am concerned. They get another one, Ayew this time, a free header. Whether you do zonal or you do man-to-man, you need the desire to win balls and get ahead of people.”

Leeds United remain only two points clear of danger after suffering a humiliating 5-1 defeat against Crystal Palace at Elland Road.

Roy Keane slams Leeds United's lack of 'discipline' after catastrophic Crystal Palace collapse

Roy Keane has slammed Leeds United for a lack of discipline following their 5-1 defeat against Crystal Palace at Elland Road.

The Whites went ahead from Patrick Bamford's 21st minute header, but were level at half-time courtesy of Marc Guehi's equaliser.

Palace then punished Leeds for a woeful second half performance with a brace from Jordan Ayew, and goals from Eberechi Eze and Odsonne Eduoard condemning them to an embarrassing defeat.
