Summerville stars in big U23s victory

With Leeds’ senior side not due to play at Elland Road for almost two weeks, over 8,500 supporters turned out to watch the U23s on Monday evening.

Mark Jackson’s youngsters made it an exciting night for those fans as they beat Liverpool 3-0 thanks to goals from Jack Jenkins, Max Dean and Crysencio Summerville.

The latter was particularly impressive as he had a hand in all three of the goals and was picked out as the star of the show in our player ratings from the game.

17-year-old Jeremiah Mullen also caught the eye at the heart of the hosts’ backline, you can see how the rest of his team mates got on here.

One change expected for Aston Villa trip

Marcelo Bielsa’s side return to Premier League action on Wednesday evening as they make the trip to the West Midlands to face Aston Villa.

The Leeds boss will have a few decisions to make regarding his matchday squad with a couple of players expected to return to the bench, at the very least.

Adam Forshaw is one of those and he will likely return to the midfield which will mean one of the starters from the Newcastle defeat will need to be dropped.

Bielsa’s continued backing of Rodrigo and Dan James, as well as Robin Koch’s emergence as strong cover for Kalvin Phillips, could mean Mateusz Klich is the man who drops to the bench.
