Leeds United news as Serie A giants join Bundesliga pair in Robin Koch race

Here are your morning Leeds United headlines on Friday, June 30.

Napoli become latest club linked with Robin Koch

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli see Leeds United defender Robin Koch as a potential replacement for Kim Min-Jae.

The South Korea international defender is set to sign for Bayern Munich and Serie A champions, Napoli, may turn to Koch as a result.

The German international is expected to leave Leeds this summer and German sides Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen have already been linked with a move.

Daniel Farke's promotion scheme clear to Leeds United on rapid summer, last-minute exits, vital loan

Leeds United want to bounce back from relegation and return to the Premier League at the first time of asking. Not many teams have managed it. Since the 1992/93 campaign, just 26 of the 94 relegated sides have returned the following season.

In recent history, there are three sides who have managed it. Watford and Norwich City recovered from 2020 relegations to finish in the Championship’s top two at the end of 2020/21. Then, last season, Burnley stormed the table after going down in 2022.

LeedsLive has spoken to Michael Bailey of The Athletic for some insight into how the Canaries achieved their bounce back in 2021. It was Daniel Farke’s fourth full campaign at the Carrow Road helm.

Leeds United's new head coach faces time constraints and squad battles in challenging pre-season

Leeds United will step up their preparations for the new season on Sunday as they get their pre-season underway. The Whites still have so much to do and appointing a head coach sits at the very top of their list of priorities.

United are still waiting for 49ers Enterprises’ takeover to be approved and that has significantly slowed things down this summer. But, time is running out and the notion of starting pre-season training without a new manager being in place is unsettling.

As such, there will be hope that an appointment can be made in the coming days to allow Leeds to start training with some direction. Ahead of day one of pre-season, LeedsLive takes a look at some of the talking points that will emerge over the next five weeks.
