Leeds United news as Ryan Edmondson linked with League One loan move

Here are your Leeds United morning headlines for Wednesday, January 13.

Edmondson linked with League One loan

Teenage Leeds United striker Ryan Edmondson saw his loan move at Aberdeen come to an end earlier this week, but is set to seal a fresh temporary move away from Elland Road this month.

The forward netted two times in 16 appearances for the Dons in what was an injury-hit spell, but according to Adam Pope of the BBC, a number of League One clubs are in for the 19-year-old.

Northampton are believed to be leading the way for Edmondson, who joined Leeds in 2017 as a 16-year-old and has made two appearances for the Whites.

Brighton formation can cause Leeds issues

Leeds Unite return to Premier League action on Saturday when they host Brighton & Hove Albion at Elland Road.

Marcelo Bielsa's side will be desperate to put last weekend's FA Cup humbling quickly behind them but will be up against a side that have shown they can be tactically flexible - which may present an issue to the Whites.

In eight of Brighton's 17 league games this season, boss Graham Potter has started with two strikers, which is something of a rarity in modern day Premier League terms.

This has scope to cause Leeds United a major problem this weekend. Read more about why here.

Jay-Roy Grot set for exit?

Leeds United forgotten man Jay-Roy Grot is reportedly attracting interest from Dutch side ADO Den Haag

According to Dutch outlet Algemeen Dagbla, via Sport Witness, they claim that the 22-year-old, who has failed to feature under Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road, has been training with the Eredivisie side 'for a few days this week', but claim they will struggle to secure a loan deal for the him.

Grot's Leeds deal expires at the end of the current season, but if a loan is not possible, Den Haag will need the forward to reach an agreement with Leeds over a termination of his contract.

Grot arrived in Leeds in 2017 and scored one goal in 23 appearances in his first season with the club. He has failed to feature since and has spent time on loan at VVV-Venlo and Vitesse.
