Leeds United news as Patrick Bamford reveals the Euro 2020 striker he has been studying

Here are the latest Leeds United headlines on Thursday, July 1.

Bamford's Euro 2020 inspiration

Like the rest of us, Patrick Bamford has been glued to Euro 2020 these past few weeks.

For the Leeds United striker, it's been a chance to enjoy being a fan and to get away from the pressure-cooker environment of the Premier League.

"I think I've probably watched 90 per cent of the games," he told Sky Sports News as he returned to pre-season testing with Leeds.

"There's always been something on if I was every stuck for something to do I'd just put the football on. It's nice because I can kind of switch off a little bit and just enjoy someone else doing the job.

But asked if whether he has been watching games purely as a fan or if he analyses the action in order to improve his own game, Bamford admitted that one player, in particular, has caught his eye.

"Bit of both really. I kind of watch the England games trying not to analyse it, just being a fan, but sometimes you obviously notice certain things.

"But then the other games, especially with the top strikers, I've watched a lot of France games with Benzema because I was interested to see how he moved and worked away from Real Madrid."

Club Brugge double down on Noa Lang transfer stance

The 21-year-old winger scored 17 goals and registered 11 assists last season as the Belgian Pro League side won the domestic title.

Lang has since been linked with a move to Elland Road in the national media, with a winger thought to be on Marcelo Bielsa's shopping list, in addition to a central midfielder and a left-back.
