Leeds United news as new left-back with affordable clause emerges and Thorp Arch gets a makeover

Orta's contacts book

Leeds United may seek to explore Victor Orta's contacts book this summer as the club hope to repeat their summer recruitment of last year in order to help the team level up once again.

The additions of Rodrigo, Raphinha, Diego Llorente and Robin Koch were widely celebrated as the quartet enjoyed a successful first season in West Yorkshire.

Reports in Spain suggest a potential Ezgjan Alioski alternative could be available for a minuscule fee - in Premier League terms, at least.

Huesca full-back Javi Galan has attracted interest from Victor Orta's former employers Sevilla, and reportedly has a £4 million release clause following the side's relegation from La Liga.

Given the player's style, it is likely he has arisen in recruitment team meetings and at such a price, may have gained a few places on Leeds' priority list.

Redevelopment time

Leeds United's Thorp Arch training base is currently undergoing a swift redevelopment during the off-season, now that Leeds' and their U-23s' campaign has come to a close.

Pictures from Head Groundsman Stefan Jones show diggers being put to work at an unrecognisable Thorp Arch, wasting no time in preparing the facilities for a pre-season return in late June or early July.

Jones posted on Twitter: "Day 2 of new pitch construction digging out all the clay", accompanied by an image of heavy machinery working away.

It is also expected that Elland Road's drainage system will undergo work, to resolve issues that plagued the turf prior to February this year.

Leeds trio pay tribute to Ben White

Leeds United trio Kalvin Phillips, Tyler Roberts and Luke Ayling have all congratulated former Whites defender Ben White on his maiden England call-up ahead of this summer's European Championships.

The Brighton and Hove Albion defender has been named in Gareth Southgate's 33-man preliminary squad for the tournament, which will be cut to 26 by June 1st.

White has impressed on the south coast following a stellar loan at Elland Road last season.

It appears as though he still has strong ties to the club though, with well-wishes aplenty from his ex-teammates.

Kalvin Phillips wrote on Instagram: "So happy for this guy right now."

Tyler Roberts - who was named in Wales' provisional 28-man squad, said: "Call up more than deserved ballaa".

Meanwhile Luke Ayling posted: "Go on the boy!! Well deserved mate".
