Leeds United news as Martin Terrier and Arnaud Kalimuendo 'on the radar' amid 'transfer stance'

Here's a look at the latest Leeds United headlines for Wednesday, July 27.

Attacking duo 'on the radar'

Attacking duo Martin Terrier and Aranud Kalimuendo are on Leeds United's radar, according to reports. Sky Sports reporter Tim Thornton says the Whites are interested in the pair, but getting them over the line is another matter.

Terrier, rated at £34 million, scored 21 goals in Ligue 1 for Rennes last season, while Kalimuendo has impressed during pre-season for Paris Saint-Germain. Jesse Marsch is looking to add a striker to his squad to provide competition for Patrick Bamford.

"Absolutely on the radar, but whether they can get them over the line is another matter," Thornton told GIVEMESPORT. "Kalimuendo, for example, there are a lot of clubs that have been looking at him, but I know his name came up a few weeks ago.

“Leeds, they’ll look at a lot of different options, so I suspect they’ve asked the question but, obviously, they’ll face competition if they want to pursue it.”

Leeds' Drameh transfer stance revealed

A lack of options on the left of defence has proved to be one of the stories of the summer at Leeds United and yet the story could not be more different 25 yards in the opposite direction. The Whites will have a plethora of promising right-back options when they hit their full complement next season.

Luke Ayling will be side-lined for the start of the campaign, and Rasmus Kristensen has been recruited for £10 million and is expected to be first choice, but Cody Drameh is an interesting case study.

The 20-year-old is heading into the new season off the back of an electric four months at Cardiff City, where he was named Player of the Season by fans off the back of just 22 appearances.

LeedsLive understands, as it stands, that Drameh intends to remain with United beyond the end of the current transfer window and fight for his place. There is a resignation Kristensen will begin the campaign as first choice, but Drameh is backing himself to take his chance if and when it comes.

Greenwood's quality forcing Marsch into 'not fair' decisions

Fairness has been a concern for Jesse Marsch when it comes to piling positions onto Sam Greenwood’s plate. Leeds United’s head coach can see the challenges of constantly moving around the pitch, but he can’t help himself because of Greenwood’s intelligence.

A loan exit was a possibility for the 20-year-old in January, but he's developed into a valued member of Marsch's first-team squad ahead of the upcoming season.

“First of all, he has a lot of flexibility to his game,” said Marsch. “He's played six, eight, 10, he can play striker.

“In some ways, it's not fair to him to try different positions, but he's an intelligent player. He fits within what we're trying to build within our team.

“He's a hard worker, he's an intelligent guy, he's able and that's the reason why we use him in a lot of positions, because he's very adaptable. He understands tactics and his role and he has big talent.”
