Here are your Leeds United evening headlines for Tuesday, March 2.
Malaysian Prince reaches agreement to buy Valencia
According to Spanish outlet A Punt via Sports Lens, the Prince of Johor has agreed a deal to purchase Spanish club Valencia.
Current owner Peter Lim is said to be eager to sell his stakes after falling out with fans. The deal is set to be processed next Monday.
It was previously reported Leeds owner Andrea Radrizanni could be interested in purchasing Valencia.
The Leeds owner has said he wants to bring together a group of clubs across the world akin to the City Football Group which includes Manchester City and New York City FC in the MLS.
Gaetano Berardi close to return
Gaetano Berardi played 45 minutes for the under-23s as he prepares his return to the Leeds first team, handing Marcelo Bielsa a huge boost in the process.
Berardi has not featured all season due to a long-term knee injury. He ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in the penultimate game of last season and has been recovering since.
Berardi's return to senior action is still some time away, but playing 45 minutes for the under-23s before being brought off at half-time in what seemed to be a premeditated substitution is undoubtedly a major step in the right direction.
Leeds have struggled at centre-back in Berardi's absence. New signings Diego Llorente and Robin Koch have rarely been fit, with the latter undergoing surgery earlier this season, while Kalvin Phillips, Luke Ayling and young Pascal Struijk have all been used at the position at different periods in the campaign.
Josh Doig can emulate Robertson, Tierney
Josh Doig, who has been linked with a move to Leeds, could emulate Andy Robertson and Kieran Tierney as the next great Scottish left-back in the Premier League.
That is the viewpoint of his Hibernian manager Jack Ross, who is clearly a staunch admirer of his star defender.
"We run away with ourselves very quickly when young players make a big impression," he told the Daily Record when asked if the 18-year-old can replicate the development of Robertson and Tierney.
"But Josh undoubtedly has a mindset and temperament allied to really modern attributes as a full-back, which will enable him to have a really good career.
"There are parts of his game he needs to improve on but I think he can improve them, which is key.
"If he can get to the levels of the guys mentioned that would be outstanding but it’s not a pipe dream for him to have that sort of ambition."
