Here are your Leeds United evening headlines for Saturday, February 13.
Keown believes Ayling would suit Arsenal
Martin Keown believes that Luke Ayling would have suited Arsenal well after the Gunners released him earlier in his career.
Ayling has rehabilitated his career since arriving at Leeds under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa, and Keown has praised the versatile defender, who he believes, would suit his former club well.
"I think Luke Ayling’s really a good example [of] when you’ve been at a big club at Arsenal, it’s not quite worked out for him and he’s come back with a vengeance the way he’s playing," he said on BBC's Football Focus.
"He’s a really important player either at right-back or central defence and he’s full of energy a real determined player.
"You look at him now and think he’s actually something Arsenal could do with now."
Sam Greenwood succeeds Eddie Nketiah
Sam Greenwood arrived from Arsenal in the summer, six months after a former Arsenal academy graduate centre-forward returned to north London following an unsuccessful six-month loan spell at Elland Rd.
Eddie Nketiah was recalled by Arsenal last January after he was unable to unseat Patrick Bamford as the starting centre-forward.
While Leeds may regret losing out on the goal-poaching striker who showed terrific instincts in front of goal while with the team, in Greenwood, they have a more than ample replacement for the years to come.
Greenwood has excelled for Leeds' under-23s this season and is seemingly on his way to having an impact on the first-team squad. Nketiah, meanwhile remains benched at Arsenal.
Leeds' predicted XI versus Arsenal
Leeds take on Arsenal this Sunday afternoon with the intention of remaining above the Gunners in the table and in the top half.
Kalvin Phillips faces a late fitness test to determine his availability, while the attacking players are all set to continue in their consistent starting roles.
Pascal Struijk could well be moved into defensive midfield if Phillips is unable to feature, which could present Marcelo Bielsa with a defensive reshuffle conundrum.
This shift will see Ayling partner Liam Cooper at centre-back and Stuart Dallas drop into the backline, with Mateusz Klich and Jamie Shackleton manning the central midfield positions behind Patrick Bamford.
