Leeds United news as Liverpool set price tag for Elland Road-linked defender

Here are your Leeds United evening headlines for Thursday, July 15.

Liverpool open to Williams sale

Liverpool are open to the sale of Neco Williams for £10million, with Leeds United previously interested in the Welsh international.

The 20-year-old could leave Anfield this summer in the bid for first-team football after struggling to compete with Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back.

Williams has been previously admirer by Leeds, along with Southampton and Burnley, report The Athletic.

Harry Wilson is also likely to be a casualty of the club's endeavours to trim Jurgen Klopp's squad and raise funds for new faces.

Whilst Leeds are believed to have moved on previous interest in Wilson, Liverpool are keen to agree a deal for £12-15million.

Leeds kit latest

Leeds United fans are eagerly awaiting news on their new kit for the 2021/22 season.

The Whites have welcomed in four new additions this summer, with Jack Harrison and Junior Firpo acquired to immediately bolster Marcelo Bielsa's squad.

Whilst Leeds plot their next move in the market, the void of genuine transfer reports has been filled by queries over the club's new strip.

As always, there have been leaks aplenty on the new Adidas kit, both home and away, but there has been nothing official from the club to date.

Manchester United's new home shirt for the new campaign was confirmed on Thursday morning, which they will wear when the two sides open their Premier League accounts on August 14.

Here's a round-up of everything we know about Leeds' potential new threads, ahead of a trip to Old Trafford in less than a month.

Leeds receive Man Utd boost

Leeds United fans will recall the concern over Kalvin Phillips and the shoulder injury he sustained in the final stages of their 3-1 over West Bromwich Albion back in May.

Moments earlier, Phillips' momentary lapse had allowed Hal Robson-Kanu to score a consolation for the already-relegated side, before crunching into a West Brom player near the sideline.

Phillips was visibly debilitated by the challenge, landing on his shoulder, injuring it in the process.

Upon getting to his feet, Phillips gingerly walked off the field clutching the offending arm.

Doubt was cast over whether he would be fit to feature at EURO 2020 in an England shirt, before a video released by Leeds United appeared to show the 25-year-old with a full range of motion.
