Leeds United news as 'lifechanging' Calvin Ramsey speculation addressed amid Whites links

Here are the latest Leeds United morning headlines on Thursday, February 3.

Aberdeen boss on Calvin Ramsey speculation

One of the players Leeds United were most heavily linked with during the January transfer window was Aberdeen's young right-back, Calvin Ramsay.

Leeds let Cody Drameh leave the club to go on loan and Ramsay seems to have been earmarked as a player who could come in and be a right-back for the future of the club.

Unlike Drameh, who wanted to move to gain experience, Ramsay has been first choice for the Dons this season and his manager Stephen Glass now expects him to return to his best form after a month of speculation.

"Calvin played well in Dingwall. Any sort of uncertainty has gone. He knows he is here until the summer," Glass said as reported in today's Sun.

"He's a kid who has had that level of talk, money and life-changing things thrown at him. I thought he handled it well. On Tuesday he showed more of what we expect from him."

It's unclear at this stage whether Leeds will move to attempt to sign the teenager in the summer.

Villa schedule second friendly in preparation for Leeds visit

The break between the Premier League's game week 23 and 24 has served as something of a winter break for many players in the division.

There have been World Cup qualifiers for North American and South American teams, as well as the knock-out stages of the African Cup of Nations but all players not involved in those have been able to have some welcome time off.

However, this week players have been returning to training in preparation for upcoming fixtures. Some teams have FA Cup ties this weekend, whilst others - such as Leeds return the following mid-week.

Marcelo Bielsa has deemed murderball to be the best preparation for Leeds' return to action against Aston Villa on Wednesday 9 February. However, Leeds' opponents are playing friendlies in a bid to retain match sharpness and perhaps work on tactics.

The Villains have already played Brentford last Tuesday and they are due to play Norwegian side, Molde this weekend.

RB Salzburg insider names Aaronson price

Leeds finished the January transfer window empty-handed in terms of first-team incomings.

However, they did make a concerted effort to bring Red Bull Salzburg's Brenden Aaronson to Elland Road. Two bids were made for the US international, with the second believed to be for £20million.

Knowing Salzburg wouldn't sell, Leeds resolved to return in the Summer for the attacking midfielder and Alexander Bischof - a journalist from Salzburg - says it will take a bid of at least that amount to get a deal done in the next window.

However, he believes they will be much more amenable when it comes to letting the player leave at the end of the season, rather than when they are in the middle of a Champions League campaign:

"If the price is right, the Bulls won't be able to say no, they know that a professional can't be kept; a contract in the Premier League is tempting."
