Leeds United news as David Moyes opens up on copying Marcelo Bielsa template

Here are the latest Leeds United evening headlines on Friday, September 24.

Moyes details Bielsa influence

West Ham United manager David Moyes has expressed his admiration for Marcelo Bielsa ahead of his side's visit to Elland Road.

The two will meet tomorrow when Leeds and West Ham go head-to-head, and Moyes has revealed he once took inspiration from the Argentine back when he was in charge of Everton.

He told the official West Ham United website: "I’ve always admired Marcelo Bielsa.

"I remember when he went to Athletic Bilbao and I went to watch his team against Manchester United. I saw how he played and I thought 'I’m going to have to try and play that way against United when we play them with Everton', and we got a draw in that game.

"His teams have always got an incredible energy, and everyone is well aware of his man-to-man marking in many areas of the pitch.

"I think they’re more than that as well: I think they’re a really good passing team, and I don’t necessarily mean just short passing, but long passing as well, and for that I think their manager deserves a lot of credit because he’s done great work with them."

Leeds United winger handed Brazil call-up

Mark Lawrenson has echoed Seaman, backing Marcelo Bielsa's side to secure three points.
