Here are the morning Leeds United headlines on Tuesday, June 29.
Moyes: Phillips to be given 'special responsibility' vs Germany
All eyes will be on Wembley Stadium this afternoon as England and Germany lock horns in the last-16 of Euro 2020.
Kalvin Phillips will be hoping to maintain his record of having played every single minute of the Three Lions' campaign so far and West Ham boss David Moyes believes he will be handed the task of shackling four-times Champions League winner Toni Kroos.
"England need someone to get close to Kroos when he takes the ball, but the thing is that he's clever," Moyes writes in The Times today. "He drops away into areas where it is difficult to engage him. I can see Kalvin Phillips being given the key role of trying to curb his threat.
"Phillips did a job against Mateo Kovacic when England played Croatia, getting close to him continually and knocking him off his game, and he does a similar job for Leeds United. He has great energy and awareness and I can see Gareth giving him a special responsibility to try to affect Germany's No 8.
"However, the flip side is that Kroos will be used to that. Down the years players from all round Europe have tried to stop him making passes, and very few succeed."
Junior Firpo latest
Leeds United are hopeful they can tie up a deal for Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo in the coming days with his La Liga future over according to reports in Spain.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo first reported the Whites were a late entrant into the race for the 24-year-old on Saturday and signals at the Barcelona end have only stiffened.
From rivalling the likes of AC Milan, Inter and others at the weekend, those with a line into the Nou Camp giants are reporting Victor Orta has turned Junior's head.
LeedsLive understands the Whites remain hopeful they will get the man who has been at the top of Orta and Marcelo Bielsa’s left-back list for the past few weeks.
Amari Miller's first words as a Leeds United player
Leeds United's first signing of the summer is still pinching himself after finding himself at such a big club.
That's the verdict from new arrival Amari Miller, who has signed a four-year contract at Elland Road.
The length of the deal speaks volumes for the belief Victor Orta and the Whites have in the talented 18-year-old, who has already made something of a name for himself after breaking into the first team at Birmingham City.
The Whites have paid an undisclosed fee to Birmingham City for the winger, who broke into the first team of the Championship club before the end of last term.
