Leeds United news as Boca Juniors legend makes Marcelo Bielsa claim, Joe Gelhardt prediction

Here are the latest Leeds United evening headlines on Tuesday, September 21.

Felman makes Bielsa claim

Valencia and Boca Juniors legend Dario Felman has lauded Leeds coach Marcelo Bielsa as the 'best manager in the world'.

The Argentine took over as Whites boss in 2018 and guided the club back to the Premier League in his second season at the helm, winning the Championship title in convincing fashion.

He has continued to work wonders with this Leeds squad in the top-flight and Felman believes that there is no one better than Bielsa in the job.

"Strategically and tactically, Bielsa is the best manager in the world," he told TribalFootball.com. "On a human level, he is a sincere person too. He was the only one capable of dragging his Athletic Bilbao players onto the pitch after a match and telling him that you are all a bunch of 'niñatos millionarios' and putting them in their place after a disastrous performance.

"Bielsa is the only manager to get his Leeds Utd players up training at 5am in the morning so that they can observe the poorly-paid workers (like the refuse collectors) going to work and see how privileged they are as footballers.

"He doesn't mind that his players are millionaires so long as they give everything on the pitch every Saturday. There are plenty of managers who 'live off football'. What makes Bielsa stand out is that he 'lives for football.' Look at what he achieved in Chile, he made history there!"

Klich praises Gelhardt

Mateusz Klich has given a glowing endorsement of Joe Gelhardt and backed the Leeds youngster to earn his Premier League debut this season.

The Whites young gun has impressed for the Under-23s since moving from Wigan Athletic last summer and caught supporters' attention with two eye-catching goals against Liverpool on Sunday.

Although Gelhardt hasn't made a competitive appearance for Leeds yet, Klich believes that it won't be long until he gets his chance in the first-team.

"He's very good, I very much like him," Klich told BBC Radio Leeds. "He develops like he does, he's getting better and better. I think he's getting closer to the team as well. I really hope he gets a Premier League start this season because I think he deserves it. He's a good player and I really like him."

Bogusz impresses for UD Ibiza

It has proved to be another successful weekend for Leeds loanee Mateusz Bogusz, who impressed in UD Ibiza's 1-1 draw with Real Oviedo.

Despite only coming on as a second-half substitute, the midfielder was named as the Man of the Match following a bright cameo appearance in Spain's second tier.

This is the second successive time that Bogusz has been awarded with this feat after he also shone in his side's stalemate with Las Palmas last weekend.

The youngster is one of 10 Leeds players who are out on loan this season and Bogusz hopes that he can continue to show what he's capable of.

"I hope that being at Ibiza can help me a lot," he told Spanish newspaper AS. "Now I have a chance to show what I can do. It depends on me, how I work and how I play." I hope that day will come but the best thing is to work and we will see."
