Leeds United news as Argentine striker linked and what Whites will get from £10m deal

Here are the latest Leeds United headlines on Friday, 3 June 2022.

Leeds United's Raphinha stars as Brazil start international period with easy win

While Leeds United's season might be over, Raphinha's is still going.

The winger played 78 minutes for the Selecao in their June international friendly against South Korea, starting on the right-hand side of Brazil's front three.

A brace from Neymar, coupled with goals for Richarlison, Philippe Coutinho and Gabriel Jesus helped Brazil to a rampant 5-1 win.

While the 25-year-old did not manage to find the back of the net or pick up an assist, the Leeds star was close to getting on the score sheet shortly before being substituted, striking the post with a great effort from outside the area.

Leeds United officials spotted in New York ahead of potential Valentin Castellanos transfer

Leeds United officials including Victor Orta and Angus Kinnear have been spotted in New York City just a few miles away from NYCFC's stadium with transfer talks for Valentin Castellanos.

The striker had been linked to Leeds in January after the 23-year-old has had a breakout 18 months - scoring 28 goals in 43 games in the MLS.

Castellanos is a pacy and powerful striker who has been praised for his workrate - and been compared to former Manchester United and City striker Carlos Tevez.

What Leeds United would be getting in signing Rasmus Kristensen

Following the signing of Brenden Aaronson, Leeds United look set to head straight back to Red Bull Salzburg with the Whites targeting defender Rasmus Kristensen.

Kristensen is an athletic full-back, known for bombing up and down the right-hand flank. The 24-year-old is a Danish international and helped Salzburg to the Austrian Bundesliga title this season.

Should Leeds sign up the defender, he too, like Aaronson, will link up with former manager Jesse Marsch, who coached the duo during his time at Salzburg before he moved to sister club RB Leipzig in Germany.

A fee of around £10m has been mooted for the Danish defender's signature, but what would Leeds be getting from him?
