Leeds United must be wary of Crystal Palace firepower despite Wilfried Zaha issue

Since Javi Gracia arrived at Leeds United, the Whites have looked like a completely different side. The Spaniard's introduction of width - the complete opposite of his predecessor Jesse Marsch's playstyle - has seen his side fly up the Premier League table.

Now sat just a point behind this weekend's opponents Crystal Palace in 13th, they have the chance to truly cement their place away from the ridiculously close relegation battle.

And with the Eagles travelling to Elland Road without their best player Wilfried Zaha after his groin injury against Leicester last weekend ruled him out for a month. While he'll eventually return for their final few matches of the season, Roy Hodgson's side will be missing a huge piece of their puzzle against Leeds on Sunday and the Whites must try and take advantage of that.

However, Zaha has missed just five league matches this season, as well as two Carabao Cup matches early on in the season. In those matches, Palace have only lost to Manchester United, Manchester City and Newcastle United.

The other four matches resulted in a win against Oxford United, and three consecutive draws against Brighton, Brentford and Liverpool back in February.

Those matches show that despite missing their star factor, the Eagles have often dug deep enough to scrape a point and more often than not contend for wins.

They've also managed to score goals without him - while he is their top goalscorer with six in the league this season, they do have others that have pulled their weight. Odsonne Edouard and Eberechi Eze have five and four goals each and Palace have eight other players that have come up with goals this season.

On top of that, the feel-good factor combined with the 'new manager bounce' Hodgson seems to have bought with him since the departure of Patrick Vieira could be another thing to think about for Gracia.
