Leeds United morning headlines: Whites' defender on his most difficult spell, Harrison talks social media abuse

Here are your Leeds United headlines on this Easter Sunday morning.

Bamford stats may surprise you

It's been an easy stick for pessimistic Leeds fans to beat Patrick Bamford with all season.

"You don't score enough" is the premise of their groans.

Bamford, who has scored 13 times this season, is fully aware of the abuse from a small section of fans and has recently spoken about it.

Now, data has revealed who is the most profligate member of Marcelo Bielsa's side.

Whites' defender opens up on injury torment

Barry Douglas has spoken about the psychological strain of working his way back from injury.

A year ago, the Leeds United full-back suffered a ruptured medial ligament in his knee towards the end of his first season at the club.

He worked his way back to full fitness over the summer but this campaign has seen him restricted to a handful of appearances.

In an insightful interview, the Scot has spoken of the struggles to return to fitness.

"For me, it's probably been the most difficult time in my career," said Douglas.

Club could face three games a week upon restart

Leeds' players will be ready to play three-matches-a-week to get the Championship season done in one month if necessary.

That’s the view of former Newcastle United midfielder Rob Lee, who does not believe it’s fair on the Whites if the campaign ended now.

Speaking to The Journal newspaper, Lee said he saw no problems for anyone in the game getting the rest of 2019/20 campaign done that intensely to see a conclusion.

“The players I speak to are missing football so I can't see anybody complaining about playing two or three games in a week,” he said.

"I wouldn't want managers moaning. Two or three games a week? So what - you have big squads and you could get it done in a month."

Harrison opens up on social media abuse

Abuse was so intensely fired at Jack Harrison he had to delete Twitter in his first season with Leeds United.

The midfielder, on loan from Manchester City for a second straight season, made the admission during an interview with ESPN.

Harrison spent a portion of his early career in the US before returning to England to join City.

And he says the social media abuse he would receive, especially after he joined the Whites last season, hit him hard.

Harrison said: "Once I came here, I was on social media, some of the things you see it’s just ruthless.

“I had to delete Twitter. Too many people coming at me.

"That was something new for me I had to adjust to."
