Leeds United extended their gap in the Championship’s automatic promotion slots to five points with another 1-0 win at Elland Road, this time over Reading.

How Leeds United's TV figures compare with Championship rivals

Leeds United's trip to West Bromwich Albion on New Year’s Day was watched by 660,436 people in Britain.

That makes it the most watched game in the Championship up to February 9, the latest date for which figures are available, according to exclusive LeedsLive research using the Broadcasters' Audience Research Board’s (BARB) figures.

It’s also a bigger audience than 26 Premier League matches, 25 per cent of all those screened.

United’s home game against Preston on Boxing Day was watched by 573,151 people, making it the next most-watched Championship match.
