Lee Bowyer regrets not joining Liverpool

Former Leeds United midfielder Lee Bowyer has revealed that he regrets not joining Liverpool whilst he was a Whites player.

Bowyer played more than 250 games for United before joining Newcastle United. However, Bowyer revealed last night that he very nearly moved to Anfield.

Gerard Houllier was a big fan of Bowyer’s and the current Charlton Athletic manager admits that not joining Liverpool was the biggest regret of his football career.

United given Illan Meslier deadline

Reports from Football Insider suggest that if Leeds want to sign goalkeeper Illan Meslier permanently, they must do so by the middle of May.

Meslier is currently on loan on from French side Lorient, making three appearances in all competitions this season.

The report states that Leeds could sign Meslier for £5m when his loan deal expires.

Warrington is very confident that the Whites will clinch promotion when the season does resume.
