Here are your Leeds United morning headlines for Wednesday, May 20.
Leeds closing in on Northern Irish star
Leeds United are in pole position to sign highly-rated Northern Ireland teenager Charlie Allen, according to Football Insider.
As per the report, the Whites last week agreed a fee with Linfield of around £300,000. Allen, 16, is expected to sign a three-and-a-half-year contract at Elland Road.
Because of his age, Allen’s deal will initially be a scholarship before penning a professional deal when he turns 17.
Widely regarded as one of Northern Irish football’s brightest prospects, Allen previously had trials with Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, while he has been strongly linked with a move to Rangers.
Allen, who has already broken into Linfield’s first team at Windsor Park, is expected to link up with Leeds’ under-23 side after arriving at the club.
Rose opens up on Leeds exit
Danny Rose has opened up on his Leeds exit back in 2007, claiming the club’s promises were not delivered.
Rose broke through at the club’s Thorp Arch academy as a 16-year-old before leaving to join Tottenham in 2007.
During an appearance on The Lockdown Tactics podcast, Rose spoke of how he turned down a move to Chelsea in 2006 as he tried to break into the first-team at Elland Road.
“It was a massive decision [to leave],” he said.
“The year before I met Chelsea and they tried to get three of us at the time. Michael Woods and Tom Taiwo.
“That was our midfield three with me. I don't know why, but I didn't fancy Chelsea and Leeds had promised me things, making my debut and stuff.
"Had Kevin Blackwell stayed 100 per cent I would have played for Leeds, but he lost his job in September or October. Then Dennis Wise came and it was a little bit different.
"In the end I just decided to leave. I wasn't enjoying it.
"When [Blackwell] left I wasn't thinking I was going to leave. Promises were made to me and other young players were making their debuts ahead of me.”
Rose, who has 29 England caps to his name, is still under contract at Spurs although he has been on loan at Newcastle United since January.
