Here are the Leeds United morning headlines on Monday, June 29.
Great time for Raymond to join Leeds - Whelan
Former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan has encouraged Crystal Palace youngster Jadan Raymond to join the Whites.
As per The Athletic, Raymond is in talks to join Leeds having turned down a contract offer from the Eagles.
And Whelan, who turned out for both clubs during his career, believes the youngster would be making the right move in opting for Elland Road.
“It’s not like he’s going to be going to a small club, he’s going to be going to a very, very big club,” Whelan told Football Insider.
“No disrespect to Crystal Palace, I played at the club for a very short time, it’s a fantastic club but when you look to the magnitude of club, Leeds United dwarf Crystal Palace, even though they’ve been in the Premier League for some time now.
“The pathway is always there for young players, we’ve seen that ever since Neil Redfern was there bringing through the likes of Lewis Cook, it’s always been an opportunity for young players and our academy system is being utilised and used.”
Delph hails ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’ Phillips
Former Leeds midfielder Fabian Delph hailed Kalvin Phillips as the ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’ after the Whites’ convincing 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday.
Goals from Patrick Bamford, Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison put Marcelo Bielsa’s side three points clear of West Bromwich Albion.
And Delph was seemingly impressed by Phillips’ performance in midfield.

Following the game, Phillips posted on Instagram: “What a result! Great way to bounce back!! Buzzing for the boys scoring! @patrick_bamford @gjanni.alioski @jackharrison11 we keep fighting,” to which Delph replied: “The Yorkshire Pirlo love it bro.”
Leeds hope to maintain their momentum by taking another three points at home to Luton Town on Tuesday night.
FA open Mitrovic investigation
The FA have opened an investigation into Aleksandr Mitrovic after the Fulham striker appeared to catch Leeds defender Ben White with an elbow during Saturday’s match at Elland Road.

Cameras captured the Serbian forward throwing his elbow into White’s jaw after the Leeds man had cleared the ball early on in Leeds’ 3-0 win.
The FA are believed to be aware of the incident with a possible three-match ban looming for Mitrovic, who escaped punishment from referee Tony Harrington at the time of the incident.
Mitrovic is Fulham’s top scorer this season with 23 goals. He was previously banned for elbowing West Ham United midfielder Manuel Lanzini in 2017.
