Leeds United morning headlines as Mounir Chouiar transfer hint emerges, Whites eye Gaich deal

Here are your Leeds United morning headlines for Monday, 14 September.

Ligue 1 winger not involved in squad as Leeds United plot transfer

Mounir Chouiar was left out of Dijon’s squad for his side’s Ligue 1 fixture against Brest on Sunday, with Leeds United plotting a move for the winger.

French outlet L’Equipe report Chouiar was omitted due to potential developments over a move away from Dijon. Leeds are believed to be among the clubs targeting the 21-year-old for a summer transfer.

Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers have also been linked with Chouiar, who made 20 Ligue 1 appearances for Dijon last season, catching the eye of Premier League scouts with a number of impressive displays.

Leeds will likely have to pay between €15million and €20million for the 21-year-old, with the Whites keen to add to their two major summer signings of Robin Koch and Rodrigo.

Leeds United won’t be only club to be interested in Rangers winger

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard believes Leeds won’t be the only club to register interest in Ryan Kent after the Whites had a bid turned down for the winger.

Leeds had one offer for Kent knocked back earlier in the transfer window and while Gerrard is determined to keep hold of the 23-year-old, he has underlined how competition for the player’s services will be stiff.

“He hasn’t let any interest affect him. He’s used it as a compliment that people are enjoying what they’re seeing in terms of his form,” the Rangers boss told the Scotsman.

“He is going to get more interest, and we are going to get more interest and phone calls over Ryan Kent because he’s a fantastic player.”

Marcelo Bielsa wants Leeds United to monitor CSKA Moscow youngster

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa wants the club to keep an eye on Adolfo Gaich despite a move for the CSKA Moscow youngster being impossible this summer.

The Argentine has only just made the move to Russia from San Lorenzo, but has struggled to settle in his new surroundings, leading to suggestions Gaich could be on the move again in the near future.

El Intransigente (via The Boot Room) claims Bielsa wants Leeds to continue monitoring the situation of the 21-year-old, with the young Argentine believed to be keen on the idea of playing in the Premier League.

It’s believed Gaich’s contract at CSKA Moscow includes a release clause that would see the youngster available for a fee of £27.8m.
