Leeds United morning headlines as Dallas reveals all about Haaland chat, Ayling on Murderball

Good morning, Leeds fans. Here are your morning headlines for Sunday, October 11.

Dallas: Haaland sang Marching on Together

Stuart Dallas has shared what happened when he swapped shirts with Leeds-born Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland on international duty in September.

The striker, the son of former Leeds United favourite Alf-Inge Haaland, ran riot as Norway thrashed Dallas’ Northern Ireland 5-1 in the UEFA Nations League, with the two players swapping shirts at full-time.

"I just like to keep my own shirts no matter who I play against," Dallas told talkSPORT.

“He just walked past me, I went to shake his hand and he said, ‘are we swapping shirts?’.

“It obviously wasn’t the smartest thing for me to do because we had just been beaten 5-1 and I am laughing on camera.

“He lent into me and said, ‘Marching on Together’ – obviously I know the Leeds connection with his dad. It’s nice that he wanted my shirt.”

Ayling breaks down 'Murderball'

Leeds defender Luke Ayling has explained how Marcelo Bielsa's intense training drills have shaped the team into a robust and relentless Premier League side.

The infamous 'Murderball' has been talked about plenty since the Argentine took over at Elland Road in 2018. And Ayling told Soccer AM exactly how it works.

He said “Training is hard to explain. There’s a lot of mannequin stuff, but it’s all short, sharp sprints and then on Wednesday, there’s a thing called ‘Murderball’.

“You go out and it’s a full-sided game and we just play football. Just play a game, but it’s five minutes and people are kicking lumps out of each other.

“You fall down and don’t get a foul. They’re counter-attacking, the ball goes out so the staff chuck in another ball.”

Leeds summer signings rated

With Brazilian winger Raphinha’s arrival still fresh in the memory, the summer transfer window still feels a successful one for Leeds.

And Leeds Live’s Beren Cross has taken a look at the Whites’ transfer activity over the summer, with 11 names cut from the roster and 13 new faces added over the same period.

As well as Raphinha, he has rated the likes of Charlie Allen, Joe Gelhardt, Cody Drameh, Robin Koch and Rodrigo, while also assessing the departures from Elland Road, including Gaetano Berardi, Mateusz Bogusz, and the forgotten Laurens De Bock.
