Ryan Giggs responds to Dan James links to Leeds United

Wales manager Ryan Giggs has responded to speculation linking Dan James with a move to Elland Road.

The former winger, who made over 900 appearances for Manchester United, refused to speak directly about the player’s future, amid suggestions he could move to Leeds on a loan deal, 18 months on after his transfer from Swansea broke down in the final hours of the transfer window.

However, he did praise the 22-year-old, who has often faced criticism for his performances at Manchester United but has been a mainstay for the Wales national team.

“No I haven’t because there’s a lot of speculation with a lot of players,” Giggs told the MEN.

"I don’t really get into conversations until there’s something concrete. So no I haven’t.

"Dan was fantastic for us in the last campaign and I’m sure he’s looking forward to joining up with us again, as he always does.”
