Here are the Leeds United morning headlines for Tuesday, August 25.
Leeds pushing for White
Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White is a key summer transfer target for Leeds after his stellar season on loan at the club last time out.
However, the Championship winners have been frustrated in their pursuit of the central defender with the Seagulls knocking back offers for the player.
Former Leeds midfielder Michael Brown has been impressed by his former club’s efforts to bring White back to Elland Road.
"It was always going to be a difficult one with Ben White because of the attention of other clubs,” Brown told Football Insider. "Brighton won’t want to let him go for any money. They’ll be thinking they can get him into their team.
“Leeds United will do everything possible and Ben White will appreciate the pull of Leeds United.
“It would be a great addition and it’s great that the club are trying to find the finances to bring in these good players."
Back in for Kent
Rangers winger Ryan Kent is another transfer priority for Leeds and the club are expected to come in with a fresh offer of £14million.
Multiple reports from Scotland claim the club will hope to tempt Rangers into a sale while also offering the former Liverpool youth graduate wages of £50k per week.
Leeds have seen a previous offer of £10m turned down for Kent but remain optimistic in their pursuit of the player.
Leeds head race for Greenwood
Arsenal forward Sam Greenwood is wanted by a host of clubs this summer but Leeds are at the front of the queue, Leeds Live understands.
The 18-year-old is said to also be attracting interest from Manchester United and Milan but Elland Road is his likely destination.
Greenwood has netted 15 and 20 goals respectively for England’s under-17 and under-18 sides in the past five years, with Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster the only player to surpass that tally.
With Arsenal set to lose a promising youngster, fans of the Gunners have vented their frustrations at the possibility of a deal.
