Leeds United midfield duo Mateusz Klich and Kalvin Phillips will have to walk a discplinary tightrope for the next month if they are to avoid a suspension.
Klich, who has been ever-present for Leeds this season and missed only one league match over the past two campaigns under Marcelo Bielsa, was issued a yellow card for a foul on Newcastle United winger Ryan Fraser after 37 minutes of their Premier League clash against Newcastle.
That was the Klich's fourth yellow in the Premier League so far this term, following his cautions against Fulham, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.
Phillips was then issued with a yellow card three minutes into the second half for a foul on Jacob Murphy.
Premier League rules mean that a one-match suspension will follow if either Klich or Phillips are booked again before the mid-season cut-off point which comes after 19 completed matches.
That leaves the two central midfielders needing to get through six Premier League games over the next month in order to avoid a one-match ban (cup competitions are treated separately).
This includes this weekend's trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in what will no doubt be a fiery occasion, a trip to face Sam Allardyce's West Brom to end 2020 and an away match at Tottenham on January 2.
Leeds' 19th match of the Premier League season is the January 20 Elland Road clash against Southampton, after which the threshold for a ban moves to 10 yellows.
