Leeds United make Barcelona striker their sixth addition in one week

Leeds United have snapped up their sixth new face of the week with the signature of Barcelona striker Rafa Mujica.

The 20-year-old’s Camp Nou contract expired last month and the Whites have moved to offer Mujica a future elsewhere.

While Mujica has never featured for Barcelona’s first team, he has represented Spain’s under-19 side in the past.

Mujica will link up with Carlos Corberan’s under-23 side initially with a view to breaking into the first team.

A Whites statement said: “Leeds United can confirm the arrival of Rafa Mujica, who joins the club following the expiration of his contract at FC Barcelona.

“Mujica has signed a three-year contract with the Whites , running until the summer of 2022.

“The 20-year-old attacking prospect featured 33 times for Barcelona’s B team last season, netting seven goals.

“He will initially link up with Carlos Corberan’s under-23 side, with a view to training with the first team.”
