Former England U21 boss Stuart Pearce has heaped immense praise upon Leeds United loanee Eddie Nketiah, comparing the talented forward to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.
Nketiah returns from the international break with four goals under his belt from two England U21 matches, including a hat-trick in Tuesday night's drubbing of Austria.
That has increased the buzz around the 20-year-old Arsenal talent, who is yet to start in the Championship since his arrival at Elland Road in the summer.
However, Pearce's comments suggest that he believes that needs to change as he outlined how Nketiah shares similarities with Champions League-winner Salah.
“I think if I was a striker in this day and age, a young English striker, I’d just copy Mo Salah in his movement, running in behind," he said during his BT Sport commentary.
“Nketiah’s certainly got that trait about him. The ones that run in behind are the ones that score goals in the modern game. ”
Nketiah has scored four goals in all competitions for Marcelo Bielsa's side this season, including two off the bench in the Championship.
