Leeds United loan watch - low octane weekend for the Whites fringe players

While Leeds United's first-team got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over QPR this weekend, the club's loan contingent had a tougher time.

A total of six Whites players are currently plying their trade elsewhere this season, as they hope that regular game time will mean they are able to either play their way into the first-team picture at Elland Road or open up further career moves.

Here's how they got on this weekend...

Lewie Coyle - Fleetwood Town

The right-back continues to be an integral part of Joey Barton's Fleetwood Town side, but failed to prevent a 2-1 defeat at Bolton Wanderers.

Coyle made his presence felt in the opposition half, with Paddy Madden was unable to head one of the Leeds man's crosses home, while the 24-year-old curled a shot wide in the second half. Was booked in the first half.

Laurens De Bock - Sunderland

The left-back again missed out through injury as the Black Cats claimed a 1-0 win over struggling Southend.

Boss Phil Parkinson said before the match that the Belgian is back in training and may get a run out in Tuesday night's EFL Trophy game against Leicester City U21.

De Bock has so far managed three outings for the League One side this term.

Conor Shaughnessy - Mansfield Town

There was a tenth start of the season for Conor Shaughnessy at Mansfield, who went down 3-2 at home to Colchester in League Two.

He played the full 90 minutes for The Stags, who sit 14th in the table - seven points off the play-offs and seven off the drop zone.

Jay-Roy Grot - Vitesse Arnhem

The striker was again named in Vitesse's starting XI for the Sunday morning clash at FC Emmen as his side looked to continue their quest for a European place.

But Grot's side were unable to dig their way out of an early two-goal deficit as they fell to a 2-1 defeat. The Leeds forward was replaced after an hour. That's two defeats in a row, with a training ground bust-up in the mix, too.

Pawel Cibicki - ADO Den Haag

Den Haag stopped the rot last week when they saw off Grot's Vitesse side to end a five-match losing streak.

Their next match is a Sunday afternoon home clash against Heerenveen, where Cibicki will be looking for his first minutes since September. Check back later to see how he got on.

Rafa Mujica - Extremadura UD

Extremadura were up against Samu Saiz's Girona side on Sunday morning, with Mujica absent from his team's matchday squad, while Saiz was among the Girona substitutes.

And it was Saiz's side that ran out 3-1 winners, althigh the former Leeds man did not make it onto the pitch.
