Leeds United loan watch - Lewie Coyle struggles as he goes up against former teammate

For all of Leeds United's transfer activity both in and our this summer, the club have just two players currently out on loan.

A number of players have been shipped out this summer as the club have looked to clear the decks of those players that do not have a look-in under Marcelo Bielsa.

And this weekend was a bit of a mixed bag for the two Whites players currently out on loan.

We check in that young pair and also take a look at how some of the players who have recently departed West Yorkshire have got on.

Lewie Coyle - Fleetwood

It was a weekend to forget for Lewie Coyle. He saw his Fleetwood side lose their perfect start to the season and his defence shipped three goals as they were on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat away at Doncaster Rovers.

To top off a bad day, Coyle received a yellow card for a bad foul in the 90th minute.

There was a familiar face on the Rovers bench - former Leeds United player Madger Gomes was an unused substitute.

Jay-Roy Grot - Vitesse

Jay-Roy Grot started on the left wing for Vitesse Arnhem and, although he was not on the scoresheet, his team won 3-0 against PEC Zwolle, taking them to third in the Eredivisie.

Grot was substituted after 59 minutes.

Former players round-up

Mallik Wilks' Barnsley conceded late on against Lee Bowyer's Charlton Athletic to settle for a 2-2 draw. Wilks got the assist for Barnsley's first goal and was substituted in the 90th minute.

After his disastrous appearance in the Carabao Cup , Aapo Halme was an unused substitute for Barnsley.

Pontus Jansson wore the captain's armband again for new club Brentford as they drew 1-1 with Hull City. Next up for the Swedish centre back is a quick return to Elland Road as Brentford take on Leeds United.

Tom Pearce didn't feature for his new team Wigan Athletic against Leeds United at the weekend.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell made his first appearance in a Burnley shirt on Monday, when he turned out for their under-23s in a 1-1 draw with Coventry City.
