Leeds United loan watch: Jay-Roy Grot involved in training ground bust-up

Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United may have missed the chance to go joint-top of the Championship this weekend, playing out a goalless draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Saturday lunchtime, but they weren't the only Whites players in action this weekend.

United have six players out on loan this season, with three of them staying in England and three others testing themselves abroad.

It turned out to be a mixed weekend for the loanees and their current clubs, with three of them winning, two losing and one yet to play.

Here is the very latest update on all of United's loanees.

Lewie Coyle - Fleetwood Town

Right-back Lewie Coyle played the full 90 minutes for Fleetwood Town at home to MK Dons on Saturday afternoon as the Cod Army secured a second successive home win, winning 1-0.

Ched Evans bagged the only goal of the game five minutes from time to lift Joey Barton's side up to fourth in the League One table.

Coyle thought he had bagged himself an assist in the first half, but his cross that was turned home by Josh Morris was chalked off for offside.

Laurens De Bock - Sunderland

Elsewhere in League One, it was a day to forget for Sunderland as they suffered a second defeat in three games, going down 1-0 to Shrewsbury Town at New Meadow.

Jason Cummings's first-half goal was enough to seal all three points for the Shrews, condemning new Black Cats boss Phil Parkinson to a second away defeat in succession.

Whites loanee Laurens De Bock played no part in the defeat, missing the third consecutive game with a slight tear in his third muscle.

Conor Shaughnessy - Mansfield Town

While there was disappointment for Sunderland and De Bock, there was far more joy for Mansfield Town loanee Conor Shaughnessy.

The defender, who spent time on loan with Scottish outfit Hearts last season, played the full 90 minutes as the Stags ended a two-game winless run, beating Walsall 2-1 at the Bescot Stadium.

Jay-Roy Grot - Vitesse Arnhem

Over in Holland, however, there was not much joy for striker Jay-Rot Grot as his Vitesse Arnhem side suffered a 2-0 home reverse to ADO Den Haag just days after a major training ground bust-up with a team-mate.

Vitesse, who went into the game on a four-match winning run, faced a mountain to climb very early on, finding themselves 2-0 down after just six minutes.

Grot played the full 90 minutes of the contest and created two chances, as well as completing 21 of his 31 passes.

Pawel Cibicki - ADO Den Haag

While the Eredivisie clash between Vitesse and Den Haag was one to forget for Grot, it was a great one for fellow Whites loanee Pawel Cibicki, with him currently being on loan with Den Haag.

While it was a great day for the one-time Eredivisie champions, Cibicki was unable to play any part of it as he was an unused substitute.

Rafa Mujica - Extremadura UD

Spanish second-tier club Extremadura UD were set to play at 8pm BST on Sunday evening taking on Almeria away from home.

Extremadura will be looking to end a two-game winless run and Mujica will be looking to make a return to the squad after playing no part in the last three games.
