Leeds United loan watch as young duo impress in efforts to turn corner

It was a mixed weekend for the 10 Leeds United players currently out on loan away from the club.

Five of them were on the winning side, three were forced to settle for a draw and the remaining two suffered defeats.

Here is how each of them performed over the weekend, as Leif Davis and Ian Poveda put down markers in what have been disappointing spells so far this season.

Helder Costa

Starting in three of the last four games, Helder Costa has began to establish himself as a regular at Valencia.

He played 85 minutes in their 3-3 draw with Atletico Madrid and the man who replaced him, Hugo Duro, scored twice in stoppage time to secure a dramatic late draw.

Ian Poveda

Winger Ian Poveda make a superb impact for Blackburn Rovers on his first start for the club since a 0-0 draw at Barnsley in September.

He scored one, set up another and earned man of the match in their 3-1 victory over Sheffield United.

Leif Davis

It was another successful weekend for one of Leeds’ two Championship loanees, as Leif Davis started his first match for Bournemouth since August.

He played the full 90 minutes; registering an assist and helping the Cherries earn a clean sheet in a 4-0 win over Swansea City.

Kiko Casilla

After starting each of Elche’s opening 12 matches since joining on loan in the summer, Kiko Casilla was dropped to the bench for their trip to Mallorca.

In his absence, the Spanish side played out a 2-2 draw.

Alfie McCalmont

Midfielder Alfie McCalmont continues to earn valuable regular game time on loan at Morecambe.

He played 90 minutes as the Shrimps progressed through to the second round of the FA Cup with a 1-0 win over Newport County.

Ryan Edmondson

Striker Ryan Edmondson has found game time hard to come by in recent weeks at Fleetwood Town.

And this weekend was no different as he played just two minutes in their 2-1 defeat to Burton Albion, which saw them dumped out of the FA Cup in the first round.

Mateusz Bogusz

After starting in each of UD Ibiza’s last five games, Mateusz Bogusz was dropped to the bench for their trip to Real Sociedad B.

He was an unused substitute as they ran out 1-0 winners.

Laurens de Bock

With his future at Leeds been over for several years now, de Bock is enjoying another fruitful loan spell at Belgian side Zulte Waregem.

He captained the side as they were held to a 1-1 draw by KAS Eupen.

Kun Temenuzhkov

It was a successful weekend for former Barcelona youth player Kun Temenuzhkov as he netted his first goal in a Real Union shirt.

He scored the second from the bench in a 2-0 win over UD Sanse.

Elia Caprile

Under-23s goalkeeper Elia Caprile started his 12th match of the season for Pro Patria on Saturday.

He played 90 minutes as the Serie C side were defeated 1-0 at home to Fiorenzuola.
