Leeds United loan watch as Mateusz Bogusz adds another screamer to his growing collection

Five of the current Leeds United players who are out on loan were in action over the weekend with some enjoying more success than others.

As they so often do, there will have been plenty of Whites supporters keeping a keen eye on how those players got on for their temporary clubs.

Here is a round-up of how those players performed.

Mateusz Bogusz – UD Ibiza

There is no better place to start than with the young Polish attacking midfielder who is really enjoying life with loan club UD Ibiza at the moment.

Bogusz got his third La Liga 2 goal of the season at the weekend as he opened the scoring with an absolute screamer in the 2-0 win against Burgos CF.

His side find themselves fourth in the second-tier table and look good to maintain their early season form to ensure that they are in a play-off place come the end of the season.

Kiko Casilla – Elche CF

The former Leeds number one made a few good saves for Elche in their clash with Real Sociedad but was unable to keep them out for the full 90 minutes as his side were beaten 1-0.

A lapse in concentration in the defence left Spain international Mikel Oyarzabal clean through on goal and he rounded a helpless Casilla before rolling the ball into the back of the empty net.

Elche had chances of their own in the match but were unable to breach the defence of the team who now sit second in the La Liga table.

Alfie McCalmont – Morecambe

The young midfielder once again came off the bench for Morecambe but was unable to have too much of a telling difference as they played out a 3-3 draw with Accrington.

He was introduced late in the first half so still managed to get nearly an hour under his belt and he will be hoping to play from the start as the Shrimps host Lincoln City next weekend.

Ryan Edmondson – Fleetwood Town

The 20-year-old forward has found his start to life in League One tough as he is yet to score in his first six appearances for Fleetwood.

He was in the starting XI for their 2-2 draw with Cambridge United on Saturday but was substituted at halftime following a first half where he was unable to get involved in the match.

Elia Caprile - Aurora Pro Patria 1919

Leeds’ young goalkeeper was unable to keep table-topping Calcio Padova out as Pro Patria’s struggles continued over the weekend.

The Serie C side have picked up just four points from their opening five matches and Caprile has only been able to manage one clean sheet, in the 1-0 win against Juventus’ young reserve side.

Helder Costa – Valencia

The Whites winger was an unused substitute for Valencia once again as they rescued a stoppage-time draw against Athletic Bilbao.

Costa has played just once for the Spanish side since signing on loan as he was introduced from the bench with 11 minutes left in the 2-1 defeat against Real Madrid.

Ian Poveda – Blackburn Rovers

The 21-year-old midfielder suffered the same fate on Saturday as he was also an unused sub in Blackburn’s 5-1 thrashing of Cardiff City at Ewood Park.

Poveda could only watch from the sidelines as a Ben Brereton hat-trick helped Rovers move up to sixth in the table.

Leif Davis – Bournemouth

Bournemouth have been in brilliant form so far this season as they sit top of the Championship with 21 points from their opening nine matches.

However, they have done the majority of that without Leeds loanee Davis who remains injured with a hamstring problem suffered at the beginning of the month.

His last appearance for the Cherries came at the end of August as he came off the bench in their goalless draw against Hull City.
