Leeds United loan watch - Coyle contributes in FA Cup victory, Shaughnessy refused permission to play

Whilst Leeds United kept hot on the heels of the Championship's automatic promotion places this weekend with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road, the players that the Whites sent out on loan in the summer experienced a rather tricky weekend.

Of the six that Leeds allowed to leave Elland Road to bag themselves more regular football this term only three of them got any minutes under their belts.

Here, we take a close look at how they got on this weekend...

Lewie Coyle - Fleetwood Town

Lewie Coyle helped Fleetwood Town book their place in the FA Cup second-round draw with a 2-0 victory over non-league Barnet at The Hive.

Coyle, who has been a key player for the Cod Army this term, played a key role in the first goal, with his cross being eventually turned home by Ched Evans after Barnet failed to deal with it.

Joey Barton's men have now reached the second-round stage for the third season in succession.

Laurens De Bock - Sunderland

Also playing his trade in League One this season is Belgian Laurens De Bock, who is with Sunderland.

The left-back made his return to the side for the Black Cats' 1-1 draw with Gillingham in the FA Cup first-round at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, playing the full 90 minutes after making a return from injury.

Conor Shaughnessy - Mansfield Town

Another player that stayed in England in a bid to develop his game was centre-back Conor Shaughnessy, who joined League Two Mansfield Town.

Unfortunately for the 23-year-old, he was unable to play any part in the Stags' narrow 1-0 FA Cup first-round victory over non-league Chorley as he was not granted permission by Leeds to play .

Jay-Rot Grot - Vitesse Arnhem

One man who has been in the news in recent weeks is striker Jay-Rot Grot, who was involved in a training ground bust-up at Vitesse Arnhem only just over a fortnight ago.

The striker started Vitesse's clash with Groningen on Friday night, only to be taken off at half-time. Vitesse were beaten 2-1, meaning they have now lost three on the bounce.

Pawel Cbicki - ADO Den Haag

Another player who went to Holland in a quest for more first-team minutes was Pawel Cbicki. But unfortunately for the 25-year-old, he was left out of the squad for Den Haag's 1-0 defeat to Fortuna Sittard on Saturday.

Cbicki has been strictly limited to game-time in the Eredivisie, with him having only made three appearances so far this season.

Rafa Mujica - Extremadura UD

Just like Grot and Cbicki struggling in Holland, it is the same tale for Rafa Mujica in Spain.

The striker was left out of Extremadura's squad for their 2-0 defeat to Mirandes yesterday, meaning he has not been named in each of the last six match-day squads that Extremadura manager Manuel Mosquera has named.
