Leeds United’s Monday night meeting against Leicester City will have given Marcelo Bielsa a chance to take a look at some of the club's loanees in action over the last few days.
The Whites have several youngsters and fringe players out on loan at sides in England and further afield in Europe.
And some of them have featured for their respective teams in the latest round of fixtures, looking to catch the eye ahead of their eventual return to Leeds.
Here, we’ve taken a look at how the various players fared.
Barry Douglas - Blackburn Rovers
The left-back was unavailable for selection on Saturday afternoon as Blackburn Rovers travelled to Swansea City, forced to self-isolate.
Douglas did start in midweek, though, with Blackburn falling to a 4-2 defeat against Championship leaders Reading.
The 31-year-old is slowly getting up to speed having gone months without competitive football before leaving Leeds last month.
Jordan Stevens - Swindon Town
Stevens was absent from the Swindon Town side that earned an impressive 2-1 win over Hull City on Saturday as he is also self-isolating.
It has been a lively start to the League One season for the young winger, though, and he was in action on Tuesday night as the Robins lost 2-1.
At just 20 years old, Stevens looks like a real prospect and will hope to develop his game further while playing in the third tier.
Mateusz Bogusz - UD Logrones
The 19-year-old midfielder had to wait a little while for his debut with Spanish second division side UD Logrones.
But it arrived on Wednesday night in a hard-fought 3-2 win away at Real Oviedo.
Bogusz was introduced as a second-half substitute, helping his side to victory against Oviedo, who were reduced to ten men early in the game.
Logrones are next in action on Monday, so the Polish midfielder will hope to make his first start.
Laurens De Bock - Zulte Waregem
De Bock has been a constant for Zulte Waregem so far this season, making 10 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League.
A reliable performer at left-back, De Bock could well make a permanent move to the Belgian side following the completion of his loan.
His dependable performances haven’t been enough to prevent Zulte Waragem’s defensive problems, though.
They have conceded goals at a rate of more than two a game so far this term - letting in three more in defeat at Oostende last time out - and sit just above the bottom two.
De Bock will be in action again on Monday night as his side host Kortrijk.
Ryan Edmondson - Aberdeen
Edmondson was an unused substitute as Aberdeen lost against Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-finals on Sunday.
The 19-year-old did a feature last weekend in the league meeting with Celtic, which ended in a 3-3 draw.
And he was the best player on the pitch in last month’s 4-2 win over Hamilton Academical, scoring twice and providing an assist.
It has been a good start for Edmondson, then, although he will likely have been slightly frustrated not to have been able to make an impact this weekend.
Bryce Hosannah - Bradford City
The 21-year-old full-back was one of the standout performers for Bradford City on Saturday, despite a disappointing defeat away at newly-promoted Barrow.
Hosannah has slotted in nicely at right-wing back for the League Two side, providing energy and athleticism in Stuart McCall’s 3-5-2 system.
He impressed against Bolton Wanderers in midweek, too, a bright point in another 1-0 loss.
The youngster will hope to build on what has been a promising start to his loan spell.
Alfie McCalmont - Oldham Athletic
McCalmont has looked comfortable in League Two when given opportunities at Oldham Athletic.
He wasn’t in action over the last week, though. The 20-year-old was an unused substitute in Tuesday night’s 2-1 win over Southend United and Saturday’s 2-0 loss against Salford City.
Robbie Gotts - Lincoln City
Promising midfielder Gotts is still waiting for his Imps debut, having been an unused substitute for the League One side's last five matches.
