Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul is reportedly wanted by Leeds United as the club prepare to continue their summer spending spree.
According to The Telegraph, the 26-year-old is a player Marcelo Bielsa believes can add quality to his squad as a player to unlock defences.
The report goes on to add that he is expected to cost at least £25million as he has a long-term contract with his Italian club.
Rodrigo Moreno joined the Whites from Valencia on Saturday morning, while Sam Greenwood also joined in the week from Arsenal.
The Telegraph report goes on to add that De Paul is their first choice for a midfielder if a deal can be brokered.
De Paul has broken into the Argentina squad during his time in Italy and is now a regular in his national team, having also had spells with Valencia and Racing Club before joining Udinese.
Speaking recently, Leeds chief executive Angus Kinnear admitted he was confident the club would have no problems attracting players this summer.
“We know people want to come and play for Leeds United in the Premier League so I don’t think we are going to have any problem in attracting the right players,” he told Sky Sports.
“But we are finding that the market is moving more slowly than normal. Although we are only a few weeks away from the new season in terms of the transfer window we are only a few weeks in.
“So I think the deals are going to take time and we're not going to rush it, we're confident in getting the three to four areas that we need to strengthen in the window.”
