Leeds United linked with move for out-of-favour Championship goalkeeper

Leeds United are reportedly considering a January move for Birmingham City goalkeeper David Stockdale, according to The People .

Stockdale, 34, who was born in Leeds and is a fan of the Elland Road club, is thought to have been deemed surplus to requirements at St Andrew's, with him having played just once so far this season after he was frozen out  by Garry Monk last year.

And with that in mind, it's thought that Stockdale, who helped Brighton & Hove Albion achieve promotion to the Premier League in 2016/17, may be open to a fresh start, with Leeds reportedly waiting in the wings.

Stockdale has been previously linked with his hometown club on a number of occasions and has endured a tough 18 months at the Blues, heading out on a series of short-term loan deals to Southend United, Coventry City and Wycombe Wanderers last seaspn.

Kiko Casilla has been an ever-present in the Leeds goal this season and has played a large part in the club's Championship-leading defence, but has an FA charge of using abusive and/or insulting words hanging over his head and has until November 27 to respond.

Should the Spaniard face a ban, Leeds would have to rely on untested duo Illan Meslier and Kamil Miazek.
