Leeds United icon Vinnie Jones has addressed those I'm A Celeb rumours

Leeds United icon Vinnie Jones has addressed the rumours suggesting he’s set to take part in this year’s series of ITV  hit show I’m A Celeb.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! will be filmed in a rural location in the UK rather than in Australia.

The former football hardman, a popular figure with Whites supporters, has been rumoured to be taking part this year - alongside another former Leeds star in Eric Cantona.

Although Vinne, 55, who became an actor after hanging up his boots, has now moved to dismiss the suggestion.

Here’s what he posted on Twitter

We probably shouldn't be too surprised he's not appearing as Vinnie wasn't all that happy about his stint on Celebrity Big Brother.

Discussing his Big Brother experience on TalkSport, he said: "You start off and it's good craic but then it just gets demoralising, you start missing the family and then you've got some irritable wannabes around you and, you know, it's their moment and they just get more irritable as it goes on."

We'll keep you posted about any other stars with Leeds links who might be appearing.

It looks like we can rule Vinnie Jones out though...
