Leeds United legend John Giles tears into 'defensive disasters' ahead of Fulham clash

Leeds United legend John Giles has ripped into his former side's defenders for their performances in recent games ahead of their Premier League clash against Fulham.

It's been a shambolic showing from the Whites over the past two matches, with heavy defeats coming in both home matches against Crystal Palace and Liverpool.

The results have left Leeds just two points above the relegation zone with seven games left in the campaign, with several vital matches still to play including fixtures against relegation rivals Leicester, West Ham and Bournemouth.

"Yes [I'm worried for Leeds], totally, totally, two matches, home, conceding eleven goals, scored in two," Giles said on the Off The Ball YouTube channel.

"That’s bad. I did not think this would happen. I thought he [Gracia] won’t win everything, but they will have enough to do it and that has not happened in the last two weeks in a big way.

"It’s not like you are beaten 1-0 or 2-1 or you were unlucky but that has not been the case. Just defensively a total disaster."

Highlighting the lack of balance in the squad, Giles continued, saying: "I think in the way they play, and the way they've played over the last couple of years, they're never going to defend well but what they do have is an awful lot of attacking players that keeps them off defending.

"It's go, go, go all the time, and that hasn't happened in the last two or three matches. They've always been bad defensively, but teams couldn't get at them that much.

"The other night, every time Liverpool attacked them, they scored a goal. It's really dangerous for them, and I'd be worried. I'd be really worried if I was a Leeds fan."
