Leeds United learn Man Utd stance on Daniel James loan amid rumours of possible exit

Leeds United will not be signing Manchester United winger Daniel James on loan this summer.

That's according to the Manchester Evening News, who say Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have 'no intention' of allowing their Welsh international to depart in any form ahead of next season.

Leeds came very close to signing the 22-year-old back in January of 2019 but his proposed move to Elland Road from Swansea City broke down at the 11th hour and he subsequently moved to Leeds' bitter rivals the following summer.

James enjoyed a superb early run of form at Old Trafford but his form tailed off after an explosive start and there had been rumours earlier this week that he could leave the club on a temporary basis amid links to the likes of Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and a host of other targets.

But the MEN say James won't be going anywhere, in fact, they say he is more likely to pen a new deal only one year after arriving for around £15m from Swansea.

Leeds have been linked with another Premier League right-winger in Harry Wilson, too, in recent weeks despite the impending purchase of Helder Costa, whose move from Wolves will be made permanent if Leeds are successful in securing promotion to the Premier League.
