Leeds United latest: pitchside verdict, ratings, Lee Johnson's take, Bielsa's verdict

Leeds United fans had plenty to cheer on Saturday as their side turned in a dominant performance in their 1-0 win over Bristol City, while results elsewhere at the top of the Championship went their way.

In fact, Marcelo Bielsa's side were the only team in the top seven not to drop points, which means Leeds were able to re-establish a three-point gap to third place.

Here is a look at the latest Leeds United headlines...

Lee Johnson's take

Leeds United fans will agree with Lee Johnson on Bristol City’s penalty shout in the second half of Saturday’s loss when they watch it back.

That is Johnson’s own view after seeing Luke Ayling’s alleged handball in the Whites box. It was a crucial refereeing error in the Bristol boss’s eyes.

Johnson acknowledged United were by far the better side and good value for their lead, but could not let go of referee Tim Robinson’s decision, which would have, he says, changed the match’s momentum.

“It’s an unbelievably bad decision from the referee, the penalty,” he said.

Here's what he had to say in full.

Bielsa in full

A win for Leeds meant a much shorter and somewhat more easy-going press conference from Bielsa after the match.

Patrick Bamford, character, the weather and Leeds' point-dropping rivals all came up.
