Leeds United latest: Nketiah's goodbye message, West Brom verdict, Bilic's Bielsa praise

Leeds United maintained their place at the top of the Championship table on New Year's Day when they held their nearest promotion rivals West Brom to a 1-1 draw at The Hawthorns.

With results largely going their way, Leeds now have a nine-point gap between them and third-placed Brentford and the rest of the chasing pact.

Here are today's big Leeds United headlines...

Nketiah's goodbye

Marcelo Bielsa confirmed after last night's clash that Arsenal will indeed be recalling striker Eddie Nketiah from his Elland Road loan spell.

The striker himself said goodbye to the travelling fans at The Hawthorns before sending a goodbye message on Twitter, where several of his now former teammates responded.

Here's what they all said.

Bilic's Bielsa praise

Slaven Bilic and Marcelo Bielsa locked each other in a longing embrace either side of their New Year’s Day clash. It is not the sort of endearment the latter always shows his contemporaries.

Always there are pleasant handshakes, maybe a hand on the elbow and some broken speech, but it was different with the Croatian at The Hawthorns.

Here's what the Baggies boss had to say about it.
