Leeds United latest: January exit agreed, under-23 ratings, Meslier scout report

Sunday's Leeds United headlines were led by news of Conor Shaughnessy's new club, our player ratings from the under-23s' 5-0 demolition of Hull City and an inside line on what exactly we should expect from Illan Meslier at Arsenal.

Here's a round-up of everything you need to know.

Leeds United man agrees January transfer away from Elland Road

Leeds United’s Conor Shaughnessy will move up to League One for the second half of 2019/20 after agreeing a loan switch to Burton Albion.

The 23-year-old spent the first half of the season in League Two with Mansfield Town, making 19 appearances in all competitions.

However, while he remains out of the picture at Elland Road under Marcelo Bielsa, he wants to play at the highest level possible and moves to the third tier this month.

Shaughnessy has not featured for the Stags since December 14, but has been carrying an injury he hopes to shake off in the next 10 days before the loan is announced.

Leeds under-23 player ratings as Hull are annihilated in 5-0 win

Leeds United (4-1-4-1)

1 Kamil Miazek - six

Barely anything for the Pole to do throughout the match as Hull City struggled to lay a glove on their hosts. Punched away one decent Will Jarvis effort in the first half. Must have been very cold in the second period with so little action required.

2 Bryce Hosannah - eight

So composed in possession and happy to be brave and put himself in for aerial contests despite his comparatively small stature. As attacking and quick as ever down the right flank on the overlap.

Illan Meslier scout report and what Leeds United should expect

Illan Meslier will make his long-awaited Leeds United debut at Arsenal in the FA Cup tomorrow, nearly five months after arriving from Lorient.

Kiko Casilla is the undisputed number one at Elland Road, keeping Meslier out of the side until now, when Marcelo Bielsa has seen fit to blood the Frenchman.

While The Football Association’s investigation into Casilla’s alleged racist remarks, it is hard to ignore the important role Meslier may yet play this term between the sticks.
