Leeds United join Bristol City in race for rising Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah

Leeds United have joined Bristol City in the race for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.

The Robins have been keen on the 20-year-old all summer but his impressive pre-season form has increased speculation that he could win a place in the Gunners' first-team squad.

News broke yesterday that the Robins were leading the queue to sign Nketiah should he depart on a season-long loan move, but Leeds expert Phil Hay says that there is now interest from Elland Road.

Leeds are considering a move for Robins flop Ryan Kent on loan from Liverpool, but could well opt for Nketiah instead should they favour an out-and-out striker.

Arsenal expert David Ornstein also reported this morning that Nketiah is set to leave the Gunners on loan this summer.

It could well spark a battle for Nketiah's signature - while the Robins are leading the race, there is also interest from Cardiff City and Swansea City.

The Robins want a striker before Thursday's transfer deadline and, with previous targets Kieffer Moore and Lucas Joao both moving elsewhere, their list of targets is starting to narrow.

Leeds striker Kemar Roofe looks set to join Anderlecht this summer, means Marcelo Bielsa's men also want a striker.
