Leeds United issued Illan Meslier advice after Kepa Arrizabalaga comparisons

Former Leeds United man Danny Mills has suggested that Marcelo Bielsa might need to take a look at his goalkeeping situation before the end of the transfer window.

Illan Meslier is established as the Whites' first-choice goalkeeper head of Kiko Casilla but has attracted some criticism from Mills following the 4-3 win against Fulham.

His verdict is that a top-quality goalkeeper would have prevented Fulham's goals and has likened the situation to that of Kepa Arrizabalaga at Chelsea.

Frank Lampard's side are due to resolve their situation with the signing of Edouard Mendy from Rennes and Mills has suggested Leeds may need to follow suit.

“It is very similar to the Kepa situation. He did not make mistakes but a top-quality keeper would have made those saves," he told Football Insider.

“He is still so young and as long as he bounces back in the next game and puts in a good performance then it is not a problem.

“If he makes two, three, four of those indifferent performances then Leeds might have to rethink their strategy a little bit.”
