Leeds United issue update on Covid protocols ahead of Arsenal fixture at Elland Road

This week saw parliament approve new laws which will affect match-going football fans as they bid to fight the rising tide of positive cases caused by the omicron variant.

Under the law, venues of over 10,000 will have to require attendees to show proof of vaccination or a negative covid test in order to gain entrance.

Leeds United have issued an update to supporters on how things will work at Elland Road for Saturday evening's fixture against Arsenal.

In the video, Leeds players Adam Forshaw, Tyler Roberts, Daniel James, Joe Gelhardt and Kalvin Phillips explain what fans should expect:

Forshaw states that the 'safety of everyone' is the club's first priority before Roberts reminds fans of the rule that they must produce evidence of at least two doses of covid vaccine or a negative test result to gain access to Elland Road.

There will also be a 'covid declaration' which fans must complete which will be sent to the emails of all ticket holders.

Forshaw also issued a 'stay at home' reminder to any fans experiencing any symptoms of covid, whilst James explained that the club were encouraging fans to wear masks in any crowded areas. It is the law that they must be worn in inside areas, such as the concourses or the club shop.

Half of the Premier League's games have already been called off this weekend due to outbreaks of the virus running rampant through squads. As it stands, neither Leeds nor Arsenal have any positive cases in their first-team squads.
