The six Premier League clubs Leeds United is a friendly option for ahead of restart

Leeds United will be near the top of several Premier League clubs’ friendly wishlists as clubs finalise their preparations for football's resumption next week.

The Whites are categorically the sternest test a top-flight club could face in England if they wanted to avoid sides in their own division.

United, too, are working towards peak fitness ahead of their own return to action across the weekend of June 20, but it remains to be seen whether Marcelo Bielsa chooses to pursue friendlies as a part of that tight programme.

Premier League clubs have begun to play friendlies, but face tight restrictions, including a maximum 90-minute drive, one way, for players if they play away, according to The Telegraph.

Players must travel in their own cars and in their own kit, but the limit of distance rules Leeds out for more than half of the division.

Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Burnley and Sheffield United are the only sides less than 90 minutes away by car.

Newcastle United, who may be given special dispensation to travel further, and Leicester City are closer to 100 minutes from Leeds by car.

Aside from League One, where the playoffs will be contested, every division below the Championship either done for the season or still debating whether to even return to training, meaning Premier League sides will almost certainly be forced to ask each other or second-tier clubs for games.
