Leeds United injury news as Marcelo Bielsa provides Patrick Bamford update & will assess duo

Marcelo Bielsa has ruled Luke Ayling, Robin Koch and Patrick Bamford out of this weekend's game against Leicester City.

Leeds United have been without the trio for a large chunk of the season and the Whites boss has not set a date for their return.

However, Bielsa has revealed he'll assess Junior Firpo and Jamie Shackleton between now and Sunday to see if they'll feature.

The Whites host the Foxes looking to build some momentum after picking up four points from their last two Premier League fixtures against Wolves and Norwich City.

Speaking at his press conference this morning, Bielsa said: "Ayling, Bamford and Koch will remain unavailable and that's the novelties."

Bamford has been out of action since September after he picked up an ankle issue in the 1-1 draw at Newcastle United.

Bielsa confirmed that it was the same injury that has ruled him out this week and he couldn't give a timeframe on his return.

He said: "It's all subject to his evolution.

"It's the problem in his ankle. The time of his diagnostic has not been fulfilled yet. It's not a simple injury. The disappearance of the pain or the tolerance of the pain.

"You can't give an exact prognosis. The response I give when I say it's subject to his evolution can not be interpreted as me not giving all the info I possess because injuries like this where the prognosis can't be given exactly. I mean when he will be available to play.

The Whites head coach also provided an update on Adam Forshaw who has returned to the first team in recent weeks.

He said: "He is healthy. He has been training. The performance of a player is based on whether he is healthy to play. With technical and physically he can assimilate the competition.

"You have to confirm this data in consecutive games. Forshaw is healthy. He has been training. Now he has to assimilate a succession of games."
