Leeds United injury news as Marcelo Bielsa issues updates on Tyler Roberts and Eddie Nketiah

Marcelo Bielsa has delivered mixed injury news for Leeds United in his latest pre-match press conference, confirming that Tyler Roberts will miss this weekend's clash with Middlesbrough.

However, the Argentine has also revealed that following his injury lay-off as the striker eyes a return to action in the coming weeks.

Wales international Roberts was forced off in the first half of Tuesday's win over Reading, in the latest of a long line of woes that have limited his game-time in recent months.

, Bielsa stated that though the forward was on the road to recovery, the visit of Jonathan Woodgate's side would come too soon for him.

"He is making some progress, but cannot play this weekend," he stated.

Further pressed whether Roberts' problem was a hamstring issue, he added: "I don’t have accurate information about that.

"I know the medical staff are analysing it and he cannot play on Saturday."

Bielsa was however able to bring brighter news on Nketiah, with the England youth international having not played since October's draw with Sheffield Wednesday with an abdominal problem.

"He has trained well, [and] probably tomorrow he is going to play a part in the under-23s game." the Argentine stated.

Regarding a first-team return, he noted: "Maybe he needs a while, but I am not sure."

Adam Forshaw however is still some way from a return for the Whites, with Bielsa currently is unsure as to a timetable for the midfielder's return.

"He is not available yet," he stated. "I cannot say when he is going to be healthy.

"It is a process where we can track him weekly, and at the moment, we do not have more information about that."
